RYAN FAYERS

Ryan Fayers is a photographer from Chelmsford, Essex, currently studying for a BA in Photography at Norwich Arts University. His entry into the world of photography was influenced by his family's artistic background, with his mother being a graphic designer and his father an art enthusiast. Ryan's photographic style is marked by a documentary and deadpan aesthetic, often focusing on graffiti, architecture, and unique sub-cultures, such as chess enthusiasts. He utilises both 35mm film and digital formats, with a progressively refined editing style. Ryan's admiration for artists is wide-ranging, including contemporary figures like Boris Becker and Andreas Gursky, as well as iconic artists such as Frida Kahlo and Alexander Rodchenko. His creative process involves thorough research, the use of mood boards, and regular shoots, both on location and in the studio. He also enjoys activities like playing chess and attending music events, which contribute to his creative inspiration. Ryan's admission to university stands as a pivotal achievement, enhancing his artistic skills significantly. His work has been displayed at Norwich Arts University, and he is currently working on a zine exploring the societal aspects of graffiti. His future aspirations include exhibiting in galleries and achieving recognition as a published artist, with the goal of challenging and expanding the audience's perceptions through his art.
